Learn the art of ceramics

I am a qualified ceramicist and have been teaching ceramics for over 25 years now. In my studio students can experience a professional approach to the art of ceramics, and learn about the medium, and the variables that have an impact on the creative process. The different techniques of working with clay, the technical knowledge of glazes and the history of ceramics form part of the teaching.

Prior experience is not required, and you can start with classes at any time of the year. The groups are a mix of beginners and experienced students with at most 12 people at a time.

Some of my students have been attending my ceramic classes for many years as it becomes a weekly retreat from their busy lives. Surrounded by a lush garden with a view on Table Mountain, the classes and setting provide the students with a tranquil space to create their own pieces at their own pace.
